It has been estimated that up to 200,000 unwanted and homeless
animals are euthanized (killed) in the Dallas/Fort Worth
area each year. M.A.C.'s purpose is to drastically reduce
that number over time and work to make the "no kill"
movement a reality, starting with the City of Dallas animal
shelters. This program will be accomplished through:
- an aggressive spay/neuter program including special
assistance to indigent and certain targeted neighborhoods.
- educating a large urban population to value their pets
as family members and companions, not just possessions
or status symbols.
