The adorable animals featured in our advertising
campaign, created by Andy Allen and Shannon Reeves, won the hearts and minds of the voters on May
3!

Update!
The ground-breaking for the new Dallas Animal Services animal shelter
on November 8 was a picture-perfect event! The weather couldn't have been better, the
media turned out in droves, and many, many city officials attended,
including Mayor Laura Miller.
Andrea Allen, chairman of the Dallas Animal
Shelter Commission, thanked past and present members of the Commission for
all their hard work toward the new 57,000-square-foot city shelter. She also credited the Metroplex Animal Coalition for helping raise funds and awareness.

The Have-A-Heart Campaign is a success! Not only have we met our "Have-a-Heart" Campaign grant challenge of $15,000 from local philanthropists Cheryl and Sam Wyly, but we exceeded it!
|
|
We could not have done it without the support of all of you who contributed and passed the word on to others who also contributed.
THANK YOU!

M.A.C. held the photo shoot and the message came through loud and clear:
there are hundreds of highly adoptable animals available every week at the
City of Dallas shelters. The people in the pictures are real city
employees, and the animals were taken from the shelter. The ad campaign,
inspired by a similar one in Chicago, is an attempt to raise the
visibility of the Forney Road shelter and another city shelter near the
Dallas Zoo.

M.A.C. Receives Summerlee Grant!
|
|
We are very happy to announce that the Summerlee Foundation has awarded
the Metroplex Animal Coalition with a $40,000 grant, $20,000 for each of two years. Since we believe spay/neuter is the answer to pet overpopulation in the
Metroplex, this generous Summerlee two-year grant will help us accomplish our goal of providing and spreading the message of spay and neuter.
