Jonnie England is executive director of Operation Kindness, the oldest and largest no-kill shelter in North Texas. Jonnie joined the staff of Operation Kindness in July 1997 after serving as a volunteer since 1986 and board president since 1989.
Jonnie has been involved in animal welfare since 1981. She was a founding director of Animals Deserve a Change, a non-profit organization that rescues spay/neuters, feeds, and adopts stray animals.
She is currently on the City of Dallas Animal Shelter Commission, representing
Mayor Laura Miller.
A native Dallasite, Jonnie is a graduate of Dallas Baptist College. Prior to joining the staff of Operation Kindness, she worked at KERA/KDTN, the public broadcasting stations for North Texas, for 17 years. She was vice president of corporate communications when she left.
